Twelve Russians Ranked amid 25 Richest Europeans
Twelve Russians have formed an impressive contingent in the Forbes rating of 25 richest Europeans. Nevertheless, the Swedish founder of Ikea Ingvar Kamprad is still the leader. His wealth is estimated at $31 billion.
Russia’s Oleg Deripaska has built up the wealth of $28 billion, yielding only to Kamprad in the Forbes rating. The fortunes of Deripaska and Kamprad haven’t changed since May, when Forbes rated all billionaires of the world.

German’s Karl Albrecht is the third leader with the wealth of $27 billion generated through Aldi stores.

LVMH owner Bernard Arnault of France and Russia’s Roman Abramovich are the last in the leading five. The wealth of the latter is estimated at $23.5 billion.

The contingent of other richest Russians is as follows: Severstal owner Alexei Mordashov ($21.2 billion; 8th rating), Alfa Group principal holder Mikhail Fridman ($20.8 billion; 9th rating), metal-makers Vladimir Lisin ($20.3 billion, 10th rating), Mikhail Prokhorov ($19.5 billion; 12th rating) and Vladimir Potanin ($19.3 billion; 13th rating) as well as Suleiman Kerimov ($17.5 billion; 16th rating), German Khan ($13.9 billion; 20th rating), Vagit Alekperov ($13 billion; 22nd rating), Dmitry Rybolovlev ($12.8 billion; 24th rating) and Iskander Makhmudov ($11.9 billion; 25th rating).

Some 298 billionaires live in Europe overall; their aggregate wealth is estimated at $1.4 trillion. Of interest is that Russia’s Forbes reported that Russia had over 100 billionaires first time in 2007.
